wins HHI
A
field of 120 players representing 24 teams competed
in the 14th Heritage Invitational at London Downs
on August 13.

Medalist
for the event was Chad Jarret (Northside) whose
72, tied with Josh Bradshaw (Appoxmattox) who
also shot 72 – the winner was determined
by a match of cards.

Josh Bradshaw (Appoxmattox) was runner-up. Last
years’s medalist, David Hudgins of Franklin
County had a 75 as did Nick Smeltzer (Salem) and
Ben Firebaught (William Byrd).

First
place in the team competition was captured by
Northside besting Salem who also had a 304 in
a match of cards.
Third
place was won by Franklin County with 320, 4th
place was picked up by Magna Vista with 321 and
5th place by Bassett with 322.

The
Heritage Invitational is the second largest of
its kind in the state.
The
HIT was founded in 1994 by former Heritage coach
and LD member, John Scott.
During
its past, most of the area’s top players
have competed including current Virginia amatuer
women's champion, Sara Harvey, former Virginia
Tech standout, Ryan Stinnett, former 2007 Virginia
State runnerup, Steve Jenkins, Jacob Stingleton,
CVIGT runnerup, and many more.
